This is Jema and Grace giving Laura and Jacob loon calling lessons, yes, I said loon calling lessons!
So per Jema and John we had to stop in Duluth and as luck would have it, one campground had a couple openings left. A miracle, due to the tall ship festival coming in on Friday. Below is the view from our site looking at lake Superior in Two Harbors MN.
While driving into Duluth from Two Harbors we were able to see an oil tanker out on the lake that was headed for the draw bridge.
While in Duluth we took a tour of the SS William A. Irvin which was a cargo ship on the great lakes that was decommissioned in the 70's. This was pretty cool if your into old ships.
We stopped at one of Canal Parks three Grandma's restaurants and had a great Walleye dinner with a fabulous waitress Lori. I also had a great beer flight from the local brewery which was really nice after our long day on the road.
She wishes this was captain Jack Sparrow |
Today we left Duluth and stopped in Hayward Wisconsin at the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame where we saw pretty much every record fish and fishing lure and fly ever made. This was pretty cool for a fishing family.
